Q1. Hi Rahul & Ishita! What motivated you to become an influencer?
Both of us have always been extroverts and love our social media a lot. With Rahul’s keen interest in fashion and my interest in writing, starting our own blog was always on the cards. Also, we got a platform with a huge audience to vent out our creative energies to and even make money out of that.
Q2. How does a casual day look like for you?
It’s pretty simple. Waking up and checking our respective insights on the social media handles, getting to work, replying to dms, comments and mails throughout the day, collecting a few parcels, and then planning the feeds for the next few days are all a part of our daily routine.
Q3. What according to you is your Unique Selling Point?
Our unique selling point is that people can get to know everything about brands & products of both men as well as women on a single platform!! We talk about everything from Food to Fashion, from Décor to DIY. And we have so many unique ways to review and present different things.
Q4. Which was your most exciting campaign so far and what about it challenged you as an influencer?
Our most exciting campaign till now was with Mast n Harbour’s Twinning collection this year around the valentines. Both of us have interests completely opposite to each other, (that is a scientifically proven law that opposites attract) but that campaign challenged us to find some similarities between things we like to do. For example, both of us love ice cream, but I need to have loads of toppings over the chocolate, whereas Rahul likes it simple and sleek. Both of us love eating out, but Rahul prefers Indian delicacies whereas I am all for fries and burgers.
Q5. How do you choose the brands you work with? What are the criteria?
If we see a product online, would we use and try it ourselves? This is the criteria. We are vegetarians, non-drinkers and non-smokers, which is why we do not promote such posts on our feed.
Q6. What strategies do you use to measure the results of your social influencer campaign?
There are no strategies as such, TBH. But the post insights and the story insights give us a lot of information about any campaign that we do.
Q7. Your biggest professional 'aha' moment so far has been?
We were in the recent stages of our blog and had just hit 10k mark when we got a collaboration from DW. Both of us had been saving since some time to get ourselves those watches. You cannot imagine the happiness on our faces when we read that mail. Also, not to forget our first paid assignment.
Q8. How has your life changed since becoming an influencer?
A lot. The entire time, both of us are thinking only about how we are going to post the next picture, story. What is next thing that we are going to create content about.
Q9. What does the future of influencer marketing look like to you with respect to brand building?
This is a huge thing right now, which I am sure, is going to stay for a long time.
Q 10. What was your biggest professional failure to date? What did you learn from it?
We are yet to reach a level where huge mistakes can cost us big. Right now, we are learning from even the tiniest mistake that we make.
Q 11. If you had to give one advice to the new bloggers/influencers in your field of work, what would that be?
Running after collaborations and demeaning others is not going to lead you anywhere. Focus on doing good work.
